Library First day report
Report of first day(6.11.2013) of 21 days In-service course for librarians -2013-14

          The inaugural function was started with prayer. The function was inaugurated by  Chief Guest –Dr.Niranjana Vanalli, Director of Centre for Proficiency Development and Job Placement, Mysore University by lighting the lamp along with the Director of ZIET,Shri S.Salvaraj and ZIET Staff.After lighting  the lamp they offered floral tribute to the portrait of Our father of library science,Dr.S.R.Ranganathan.
         Shri Selvaraj, Director of  ZIET and Deputy Commissioner ,honored  the guest with bouquet  and  addressed the participants  highlighting the importance of training, aims and objective, implementation and working culture.
        Guest Speech:- Dr.Niranjana Vanalli, who stressed about importance of communication skills, rapprochement, career guidance and counseling, personality development, positive attitude and soft skill which help develop  the relation between reader and Librarian in his speech.
Ice Breaking Session:- Very interesting programme conducted by Sri Binoy, PGT-English, ZIET. He assigned skit, mime, musical passing game (memory game) by forming four groups. The participants actively participated and enjoyed the programme.
Know your organization: A PPT presentation by Sri K. Armugam. PGT Phy, ZIET, who narrated about KVS organization, Management, policy, functioning, aims, history and administration. He also highlighted silent features of KVS  such as insurance for K V children, on –line classes, video conferencing for K V students, rating of K V school by quality council of India, admission to central govt. employee children, admission under RTE.
Pre-Test conducted for the participants to evaluate their professional knowledge. The question paper  was consist of objective as well as descriptive type. All the participants responded positively.
Formation of groups:- Sri Varnekal V L Co-coordinator of In-service course formed six groups of participants and each group consisting seven members with group leader. Each group was entitled with Indian author. He allotted duties to each group like conducting morning assembly, project works and assignment.
Formation of Committees:- The four Committees were formed for the welfare of the participants .
1.       Editorial Committee 2. Mess Committee 3. Excursion Committee 4. Cultural Committee
The day’s session was ended with the brief description  of various programs and activities for  remaining 20 days.
